    How choosing a pink champagne

With the sunny days, what could be better than a pink champagne rosé ?!

But which champagne rosé to choose?

There are two types of pink champagnes: one obtained by bleeding and the other by assembly.

What is the difference between both ? So which one to choose?

The champagne rosé by bleeding is obtained by a short maceration of ten hours of the juices with the skins of the red grapes. This method requires a great know-how and it is the mastery of this technicality that will determine both the taste and the color of the champagne. Since Pinot Noir is the only black grape variety authorized in the Grand Cru appellation, this champagne is 100% Pinot Noir.
This rosé champagne of bleeding is more vinous and generally shows a rosé of a rosé more intense than the rosé of assembly.
DID YOU KNOW THAT ? Good to know : Madame Clicquot created the first blended Rosé in 1818 by adding some red wine to Yellow Label champagne. The result was Veuve Clicquot Rosé, a fruity and full-bodied expression of the Veuve Clicquot style.
    .
Pink champagne by assembly is more common. The method used is to assemble grape must and black grape. It is a specificity of Champagne: it is indeed the only authorized French wine from the blend of red wines and white wines. This pink champagne is generally slightly orange and lighter, due to the presence of Chardonnay. For Champagnes Grand Cru, only 2 grape varieties are allowed: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

And to allow you to appreciate the differences, to discover the characteristics of these two champagnes, we created the box with an exclusive duo of pink champagnes.

    Cheers !

Hi Champagnelover The aromas are really diffrent, more tanic for Rosé de Saignée with a palate like Blanc de Noirs, more fruity (citrus & red fruits, blending of chardonnay & pinot) for Rosé d'Assemblage. I suggest to test both to make yourself your own opinion !
